After the Legends easily recover the last piece of the Spear of Destiny, by converting its storage into jelly beans, Eobard Thawne is full of rage and devises a plan to find the Legends and retrieve the Spear of Destiny from them. I know you think I’m kidding about jelly beans, but it’s true, F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M converted something into a stack of jelly beans. After the pieces conjoin to form the Spear all by themselves, Rip warns the team to stay away from it, and all of them start looking for a way to destroy its power.
The only way to destroy the Spear is Jesus Christ’s blood, and when the Team decides to go there, Rip advises completely against it and says that events like the birth and death of Christ are off limits. So, with the help of a research by J.R.R. Tolkien, the writer of Lord of The Rings, they are forced to go into World War One, and into the bloodiest battlefields in history. After they reach Somme, in Northern France, they find out where J.R.R. Tolkien is, and ask him where Christ’s blood is.
After Tolkien and Nate’s brainstorming session, they find out that the clue to Christ’s blood is in a very old church, where they encounter their old friend Leonard Snart. Mick thinks it’s a hallucination but, it turns out that the Legion travelled back in time and recruited Snart before he joined the Legends. After a brief gunfight with German soldiers, they are able to find the clue that leads them directly in between the battlefield where they area able to find Christ’s Blood. Just when they are about to leave, Damien Darhk and Leonard block their way and threaten to kill them if they; don’t give them the Spear.
Mick, influenced by Leonard’s words, betrays them and hands over the spear to Darhk and leaves with them. In the end, Leonard, Mick and the Legion of Doom, all are holding the Spear and Merlyn is speaking some words in a weird language, and then suddenly his voice starts sounding like a monster and then boom! The episode ends.
What’ll happen, what will the Spear do? Will it change everything? We’ll see next time.
